TCC Students Dig into Gardening Fun with Campus Services Volunteers

On May 6, Georgia Tech’s youngest Yellow Jackets rolled up their sleeves and got their hands in the dirt during a special Garden and Pot Planting event at The Children’s Campus @ Georgia Tech (TCC). The joyful event was a collaboration between Campus Services team members from Auxiliary Services, Engagement, and Sustainability, who partnered with TCC to help plant a vibrant garden full of herbs, vegetables, and colorful flowers.Guided by staff and volunteers, the children eagerly participated in every step of the planting process. Adding a sweet seasonal touch, the event also included a hands-on activity where the children decorated reusable flowerpots. Using composting soil from the GT Community Garden, each child planted a cheerful marigold to gift their mothers in celebration of Mother’s Day.This event served as a beautiful reflection of Georgia Tech’s commitment to community, sustainability, and nurturing future generations. It was more than just a gardening day – it was a chance for the little members of the Tech family to connect with nature, learn through play, and kick off the summer season!
